Father Marc Rougeau has been a priest for more than 40 years and a member of the Salesian Society for more than 50 years. Fr. Marc is the only child of Wilfrid and Laurette Rougeau. The family immigrated from Canada in 1951 to the Los Angeles area seeking better work opportunities. Fr. Marc became acquainted with the Salesians through Don Bosco Technical Institute in Rosemead, California. He spent his freshman year learning a trade in the printing department, then transferred to the Salesian Junior Seminary in Watsonville, California. He entered the novitiate in 1965 and made first vows in 1966. He taught in a Salesian boarding school in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, St. John Bosco High School in Bellflower, and then began his theological formation in 1974. He was ordained on May 14, 1977, then returned for 8 years to minister at St. Mary's Salesian School in Edmonton. Since then he has been in retreat work, financial administration, and other roles in the Salesian Province of St. Andrew, which comprises California and Texas.
